Samsung Galaxy S3 Update: Sprint has rolled out Android 4.4.2 KitKat update for Samsung Galaxy S3 users. According to Android Geeks, some more information indicates an update should be coming soon to other users on other carriers.

According to rumors, the update should roll only on the following Galaxy S3 devices: GT-I9305, SHV-E210K, SHV-E210L, SHV-E210S, SGH-T999/L, SGH-I747, SGH-N064, SGH-N035, SCH-J021, SCH-R530, SCH-I535, SCH-S960L, SCH-S968C, SPH-L710, SCH-I939 and SCH-S968C which indicate that the Galaxy S3 i9300 won't receive the official update at all.

In Samsung's official site, US Cellular lists the Samsung Galaxy S3 as an Android 4.4.2 KitKat running device. It's most likely that Samsung will roll out the Android 4.4.3 KitKat update for the Galaxy S3 internationally very soon. Android Geeks believe that US Cellular users will be among the first ones to get it.

Other rumors indicate that Samsung is planning to update some of their smartphones directly to Android 4.4.3, though it is not sure if the Galaxy S3 is among them yet. Android 4.4.3 should start rolling out very soon.

"In the meantime it seems like we have to wait for the carriers to certify and approve Samsung's update for the various Galaxy S3 models, because they're stalling updates pretty much usually," Android Geeks reported.

Update to the Adroid 4.4.2 KitKat comes with some new features and speed enhancements for the Galaxy S3. This includes Location Settings, Default App Settings, an all-new full-screen immersive mode, and wireless printing. The Location Settings allow users to see how much battery does each location detection feature use and users can disable any one of the features, while the default app settings allow users to modify default apps easier. The full-screen mode allows apps to hide the notifications bar, while wireless printing makes it easier to use a printer directly from the device.
