Juan Manuel Marquez news features his trainer Ignacio "Nacho" Beristain's advise for him to no longer take a fifth fight against Manny Pacquiao.

Philippine publication Spin.ph released a report on Nacho Beristain's statements that came out almost a week after his fighter's victory over Mike "Mile High" Alvarado.

"I will do everything possible to prevent Juan Manuel Marquez from stepping in the ring with Pacquiao for a fifth time," Beristain said in a statement. "If it were up to me, he would not do a fifth fight."

Top Rank promoter Bob Arum has made a stipulation regarding the post-fight results, giving the winner of the Juan Manuel Marquez vs. Mike Alvarado fight the mandatory challenger title for Manny Pacquiao's WBO welterweight title.

"El Dinamita" is currently vying for another world title in a fifth weight class, something that no Mexican boxer has achieved yet. Nacho Beristain, however, believes that Juan Manuel Marquez can take on other opponents to fulfill this feat other than Manny Pacquiao.

"I know the desire of Juan Manuel Marquez and myself, to conquer a (world title in a) fifth division, but it should not be against Pacquiao," Beristain added.

Juan Manuel Marquez has been involved with professional boxing since 1993. For more than two decades now, he has faced the sport's toughest fighters, such as Manny Pacquiao, Juan "Baby Bull" Diaz, Floyd Mayweather Jr., and Timothy Bradley, just to name a few. He currently holds a record of 56 wins and 7 losses, with 40 of those victories coming by knockout.

He has also bagged world titles in the featherweight, super featherweight, lightweight, and super lightweight divisions. Given these accolades, Nacho Beristain believes that Juan Manuel Marquez has nothing to prove anymore.

"People will remember him for what he's done in his career, for giving people big fights, for having faced the best of his time," he said.
