LeBron James news is out and "King James" is now involved in a war of words against Indiana Pacers guard Lance Stephenson, with Stephenson describing the Miami Heat star player's trash talking as a "sign of weakness" from the two-time NBA champion.
In a report by Sun-Sentinel.com, Lance Stephenson released a statement about the verbal sparring that commenced between him and LeBron James during Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals game between the Indiana Pacers and the Miami Heat.
While the Heat did ended up winning the game with an 89-87 tally and now leads the series three games to one, Stephenson attacked "King James'" taunting words towards him.
"To me, I think it's a sign of weakness because he never used to say nothing to me," Stephenson said. "I always used to be the one who used to be the one that say, 'I'm going to get under you."
"I'm going to do something to get you mad' Now he's trying to do it to me. I feel like it's a weakness," he added.
The trash talking ensued during the first quarter of the game, right after Stephenson drew a charging foul on LeBron James. With the Pacers up by nine points during the time, the frustration piled up on "King James" as he closely followed the Pacers guard down the court and began talking smack.
For Lance Stephenson, being able to frustrate a top-level player like LeBron James is an accomplishment in itself.
"I'm doing something right and I'm getting under his skin," Stephenson added. "I definitely have to keep stepping up to the plate and be aggressive when he does that."
LeBron James, on the other hand, refused to comment further on the subject.
"I'm not going to get involved in that," James replied. "I've already been involved in a LeBron vs. Stevenson in my playoff career."
