A new development for the Ant-Man Movie has been revealed as actor/screenwriter Matt Gerald is rumored to play as either the super villain Egghead or MODOK.

Marvel has hired Matt Gerald in an unspecified role in the Ant-Man movie, but a blogger from a Marvel Movie fan page speculated that he will likely play Egghead or MODOK in the movie.

Gerald is no stranger to Marvel films as he appeared in the Marvel-One Shot: All Hail the King co-starring Ben Kingsley.

Marvel Studios has not yet made an announcement regarding the villains in the movie and recent problems within the production has led to director Edgar Wright's departure to the movie.

Speaking of Edgar Wright, directors Joss Whedon and James Gunn openly stated their opinions on Wright leaving the Ant-Man movie.

Marvel has a rough history with their directors due to many of them leaving their respective projects due to creative issues and opinions with Marvel. This leaves Marvel with the tough task of changing directors at the last minute.

Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn posted a statement on his Facebook account last Friday to address fans questions and feedback regarding Wright's departure with Marvel.

"Sometimes you have friends in a relationship. You love each of them dearly as individuals and think they're amazing people. When they talk to you about their troubles, you do everything you can to support them, to keep them together, because if you love them both so much doesn't it make sense they should love each other? But little by little you realize, at heart, they aren't meant to be together - not because there's anything wrong with either of them, but they just don't have personalities that mesh in a comfortable way. They don't make each other happy. Although it's sad to see them split, when they do, you're surprisingly relieved, and excited to see where their lives take them next."

"It's easy to try to make one party "right" and another party "wrong" when a breakup happens, but it often isn't that simple. Or perhaps it's even more simple than that - not everyone belongs in a relationship together. It doesn't mean they're not wonderful people."

And that's true of both Edgar Wright and Marvel. One of them isn't a person, but I think you get what I mean."

Avengers movie director Joss Whedon tweeted a selfie with him holding up a Cornetto ice cream cone as a salute to Wright as he was the original creator of the comedy movie trilogy, Three Flavours Cornetto trilogy.

Actor Patrick Wilson also tweeted his opinion on the situation.

So who will replace Edgar Wright as the director of Ant-Man? We'll find out more updates soon.
