Brad Pitt's movie 'World War Z' is going to have a sequel and the 'Moneyball' actor is confirmed to star in the follow-up to the apocalyptic zombie thriller.
Pitt is confirmed to return to play Gerry Lane, the UN worker who sets about solving the crisis of a worldwide zombie epidemic. He will also produce the movie, according to Skymovies.
Steven Knight, the scriptwriter responsible for 'Locke' and 'Dirty Pretty Things,' has been hired to pen the script. No word on who will direct the World War Z sequel.
World War Z was based on the novel by author Max Brooks, who is the son of comedian Mel Brooks. The book was more of a retrospective look at how a zombie plague would affect the world's population, but the World War Z film was more of an action adventure.
World War Z raked in over $550m worldwide, making it Pitt's most successful movie.
The World War Z sequel is expected to hit theaters in 2016.
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie bought Château Miraval, an estate in Provence, as a family retreat, but were soon wooed by the dream of making wine there. Pitt appears on on the cover of Wine Spectator magazine's latest issue, alongside his business partner Marc Perrin.
Pitt said about his new life as a wine maker, "I'm a farmer now. I love learning about the land and which field is most suitable for which grape, the drama of September and October: Are we picking today? Where are the sugar levels? How is the acidity? Is it going to rain?... It's been a schooling for me. In the off months, I enjoy cleaning the forest and walking the land."
He also commented about Chateau Miraval, saying "We became impassioned with this place which could produce its own wine, its own food, and become a place where artists could congregate and share ideas."
"It's very peaceful and the antithesis of the drive, the want, the need to get ahead indicative of life in Hollywood. I'm instantly reminded what quiet sounds like."
