Its official! The X-Force movie is in the works.

With the success of X-Men: Days of Future Past, Twentieth Century Fox wasted no time announcing the next installments of the X-Men franchise, X-Men: Apocalyspe, Wolverine 3, Deadpool, Gambit, and X-Force.

According to reports from Screenrant, X-Force was originally announced last summer with Kick-Ass 2 director Jeff Wadlow attached to writing the script and directing the movie. X-Force creator Rob Leifeld had read the complete draft of the script and commented on it as "beyond impressive".

Although there are no doubts that X-Force movie is in development, everything changed when Bryan Singer announced that X-Men: Apocalypse is scheduled for next year. The production has been shelved in favor of the X-Men: Apocalypse.

X-Men franchise producer Lauren Shuler Donner speaks his mind about the sudden change during an interview with Collider.

"I think we have to figure out how many films a summer can handle without getting into X-Men fatigue... There's a summer, there's a year, say 2014, 2015, how many can you put out? Take into consideration there are also Marvel movies coming out then. At a certain point people want to see other movies besides comic book movies so you have to be really careful what you're going to pick, and how many are going to be released within a year."

Meanwhile, several characters are hinted to join X-Force and these characters are Psylocke, Domino Colossus, and Deadpool.Director Jeff Wadlow stated that he wanted these four characters in the movie.

"Look, I'm a huge Deadpool fan, who doesn't love Wolverine - but obviously Cable is an iconic character we haven't seen onscreen yet. I love Psylocke, Domino is an amazing character - it's a long list of characters that have appeared in X-Force - Colossus is in the current lineup... There are a lot of really exciting characters that you can use in X-Force that have been in other movies, that haven't shown up, or maybe there's ways to re-imagine them, even though they might've shown up in other films."

There are also rumors that Cable will not join the X-Force the movie as he was set to be introduced in X-Men: Apocalypse but Liefled responded to the rumors through his Twitter account by saying.

Comicbook.com reports that Tom Hardy and Jon Hamm are in talks with Leifeld for the role of Cable in X-Force and Apocalypse movies.

In the Marvel comics, two versions of X-Force are introduced in the X-Men mythos. The first team is led by Cable that operates as a militant version of the X-Men while the second incarnation is a Black-ops Team created by Cyclops and led by Wolverine that carry out missions that the main X-Men team can't do, and operate in secrecy to the rest of the members.
