Jonah Hill has just recently apologized for a gay slur he had thrown in anger at a paparazzo.
Jonah Hill's gay slur was caught on camera and had made its rounds on the internet through a video leaked by TMZ. In the video. Hill was hear saying: "Suck my d---, you f-----."
On a recent interview on Howard Stern's radio show, the "22 Jump Street" actor admitted that he lost his cool that's why he said the "disgusting" homo slur at a paparazzo.
"I played into exactly what he wanted and lost my cool and in that moment I said a disgusting word that does not at all reflect how I feel about any group of people," Hill said.
"It would break my heart to think that anyone would think, especially with all the work that I have done and all the loved ones that I have, that I would be against anyone for their sexuality."
Hill who was an Academy Award nominee for his performance in "Moneyball" and "The Wolf of Wall Street," shared in the interview that it was never his intention to insult the gay community. In fact, he has long been a gay advocate.
It was remembered that the actor took to Twitter his protest against Moscow's anti-gay laws before the Winter Olympics in Russia. "Help us show Russia & the world that #LoveConquersHate," he tweeted.
Jonah Hill admitted that the paparazzo who he hurled the gay slur at was purposely mocking him, and was saying "hurtful things" about his family.
"I'm not at all defending my choice of words, but I am happy to be the poster boy for thinking about what you say and how those words, even if you don't intend them and how they mean, they are rooted in hate and that's bullsh-. And I shouldn't have said that," Hill said.
His new film with Channing Tatum, "22 Jump Street," is scheduled to open on June 13.
