Following the success of Disney's latest offering Maleficent which stars actress Angelina Jolie as the fabulous "anti-hero" heroine in the Sleeping Beauty remake, Disney confirms that another classic, Beauty and The Beast, has a live-action movie and the production plans are currently in discussion! Now things are getting exciting in the movie scene as everyone's dream of a Beauty and The Beast live-action film will finally come to reality!
Disney also confirms that Bill Condon will be in charge of directing Beauty and The Beast's upcoming live action remake. Bill Condon's previous works include Dreamgirls which won an Oscar for Jennifer Hudson's stunning performance and Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn that starred then lovebirds Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, whose film also catapulted the actors into huge success in Hollywood.
It is not yet revealed who will be shortlisted in the cast of the upcoming Beauty and The Beast live-action remake. Now this leaves everyone wondering who will portray the lovely Belle and the gentle giant Beast!
The classic Disney movie first debuted as an animated feature in 1991 and gained a Best Picture nomination in the Academy Awards. It was brought into Broadway as a musical adaptation in 1994 and it had a total revenue of $375 million worldwide.
Currently, Disney is working on other live-action movies of their classic animated movies such as Cinderella which is directed by Kenneth Branagh and The Jungle Book which is directed by Jon Favreau.
