The latest Coldplay news about The Duke of Cambridge saying he's a fan of the band is making its rounds on the internet.

Aside from Coldplay, Prince William also revealed that he likes Linkin Park.

Prince William was visiting a school in East Yorkshire when a student asked him what music he liked. The Prince, apart from mentioning that he was into British rockers and US nu metal staples, said the he really likes Coldplay and Linkin Park.

He also shared what musical instruments he plays: "I used to play the piano, trumpet and drums when I was your age but I couldn't read music. There's only so much you can remember from the top of your head," he said.

Prince William's favorite alternative rock band, Coldplay, has the fastest selling album of 2014 with their new album "Ghost Stories". The LP was the band's sixth consecutive Number One on the UK Official Albums Chart. Altogether, the band have sold 11.1 million albums in the UK since the release of their debut, 2000's "Parachutes".

As for other Coldplay news, their newest album is doing good at the Billboards too. "Ghost Stories" still takes the top spot for a second week now.

According to Nielsen SoundScan, "Ghost Stories" has already sold 466,000 copies as of late. The album also debuted number 1 with 383,000 copies sold, the biggest sales frame for an album this year.

"Ghost Stories" is currently the sixth-largest-selling album of 2014. The soundtrack to "Frozen" still holds the top spot with over 2.5M copies sold, and remains to be the only album to have sold 1M copies so far in 2014.

Coldplay's front act Chris Martin just recently split from wife of 10 years Gwyneth Paltrow. The high profile couple announced their "Conscious Uncoupling" in March this year.
