"Wolf of Wall Street" actor Jonah Hill offered an apology following a homophobic insult to a paparazzi photographer.
In an emotional apology on The Tonight Show with chat host Jimmy Fallon, funnyman Jonah said before his interview that he would like to extend his apology to those who were hurt by his negative remarks.
It was reported that earlier this week, the 30-year-old actor slammed a paparazzi who had been subsequently following him while shouting verbal insults to him and his family.
The Oscar nominee felt outraged and said "Suck my d--k, you f----t."
"I was genuinely hurt by this and made angry by this and in response I wanted to hurt him back and I said the most hurtful word that I could think of at that moment," the actor told.
The "Wolf of Wall Street" actor said he did not mean to sound homophobic. "I didn't mean this in the sense of the word, I didn't mean it in a homophobic way."
Jonah Hill clarifies that he knows that how he mean things doesn't matter and that "words have weight and meaning."
"The word I chose was grotesque and no one deserves to say or hear words like that," the "Wolf of Wall Street" actor Jonah Hill said.
The actor even told that he is an active and long-time supporter of the LGBT community and he felt that he was discarded by the people whom he failed.
"My heart's broken and I genuinely am deeply sorry to anyone who's ever been effected by that term in their life," he said.
Jonah Hill added that he does not expect or deserve forgiveness but advised young people to not imitate what he has done.
"I'm sorry. I don't deserve or expect your forgiveness but what I ask is that at home if you're watching this, and you're a young person especially, if someone says something that hurts you or angers you use me as an example of what not to do," he said.
