Henry Cavill girlfriend Gina Carano furthers her movie career. Reportedly, a start-up movie company to be located in DeWitt is planning to shoot its first film. Rumor suggests that the ex-Strikeforce champ will star in the movie to be produced by The Film House. Syracuse reported that she hasn't signed a contract yet but in March, The Film House said that it was negotiating with the actress to make a movie called "The Opium War''. The Film House is negotiating a few last details to sign Carano, 32, for the movie.
"We're going back and forth on one or two minor points,'' Michael Haggerty, chief operating officer of The Film House said.
The company aims to shoot at least four movies this year in Upstate New York.
"Once we get rolling here, we're going to be extremely busy,'' he said.
Carano stars as Ava in action thriller movie called In the Blood which was released last April. Ava is a new bride whose spouse disappears during a Caribbean honeymoon. She uncovers a dark underworld and sets out discover the truth and those responsible using her skills. Devastated, Ava seeks brutal revenge against the men she believes to have abducted her husband. The closer Ava gets to the answers, however, the more apparent it becomes that she has stumbled into a plot that's bigger than she could have ever expected. Now, she must survive long enough to seek vengeance, and to expose the sinister act of treason once and for all.
Variety reported that according to suggestions of Steven Soderbergh, the best way to appreciate the actress' talents was via a combination of long takes and quick, brutal action sequences.
Buzz on Carano's potential return to MMA is getting stronger.
According to SB Nation, UFC president Dana White said at the UFC 173 post-fight media scrum that he "owes her a call" about a potential UFC fight. Carano, who competed for the last time in a featherweight clash with Cris Cyborg for the Strikeforce title in 2009, is back to training, but not eying a UFC bout (yet).
