Kevin Spacey's show was temporarily put on hold as the "House of Cards" actor scolded a member of the audience for not answering a call and thus interrupting his speech for the legal drama "Clarence Darrow," The Independent told.

While the "House of Cards" actor was in the middle of a powerful scene during Kevin Spacey's one-man show, a ringing phone abruptly interrupted him and the audience.

The theatergoer seems to ignore the loud ringing and tried to look as innocent as possible.

But Spacey did not withstand the noise and yelled while still in character, "If you don't answer that, I will!" The shout was followed by a round of applause from the audience.

The Daily Mail also reported that even in the social media, the "Richard III" and "The Philadelphia Story" actor was also lauded because of how he dealt with the ringing phone.

Kevin Spacey's show is in line with his celebration for being the artistic director of The Old Vic theatre in London for a decade. It evolves Clarence Darrow's life, a 19th century lawyer in America, and how he gained a reputation of being a civil rights hero and a powerful courtroom personality.

The Thea Sharrock-directed production also gained a standing ovation from the audience that capped the actor's stunning performance. Sharrock was the brain behind BBC's Christmas special, "Call the Midwife."

"Clarence Darrow was a unique and courageous man," the Oscars winner described his latest character.

The 54-year-old is also proud that his favorite actors have also played the part namely Henry Fonda, Orson Welles and Spencer Tracy.

"Finally, throw in that I've never done a one-man play, or performed in the round before, and this production offered me two firsts. Plus, you know I love a challenge," he told.

It was also reported that he will turn over his role as artistic director this year to Matthew Warchus.
