Apps For Android: Microsoft biggest product, the MS Office, has been going mobile as of late. While the anticipation for MS Office to land on Windows-operated tablets, it seems that Microsoft will be heading on different path.
The US tech-giant has delayed the Office for Windows Mobile and is pushing the application to the Android platform instead. This could be due to the fact that Windows tablets have a smaller market share compared to Android.
It isn't surprising really as Microsoft has already launched the MS Office for the iOS not too long ago. The major bummer is with Windows' users, which can't swallow the fact that they are last to receive the Office. On top of that, Office for the iPad and Android users will get a year of free trial. This includes both Office 365 and Office for the desktop.
It is unclear if Microsoft has some special plans for their own users. The MS Office for Windows Mobile is expected to arrive in 2015. At the same time, it will be coming with Windows 9. Microsoft might just offer something more for their own version of MS Office.
Also, it is worth noting that MS Office for Apple is receiving its fair share of complaints due to being limited. Will the MS Office for Android Phone have a better version than the one in the App Store?
