Scalebound is one of the few new IPs to come out of today’s Microsoft press conference at E3, and it has definitely aroused a good deal of curiosity.
The title was teased in a trailer that showed a boy band lookalike wearing magic armor team up with a dragon to fight gigantic monsters in a jungle while listening to dubstep. One thing’s for sure: that’s got to be an interesting design document.
The combination of over-the-top action and jaw-dropping visuals both amazed and confused the audience, but since the game comes from Bayonetta creators Platinum Games it’s hardly a surprise to see such an outlandish concept.
The title was introduced by the studio’s Hideki Kamiya, who did not provide a release date, but said the game would be an Xbox exclusive.

Microsoft describes Scalebound as follows:
"The next great adventure from critically acclaimed developer Platinum Games and renowned game director Hideki Kamiya, Scalebound transports you to a distant, hostile world. You’ll come face to face with fearsome creatures, including a formidable dragon — and the bond you forge with this awesome predator will prove crucial to the survival of both worlds."
The footage of the game at E3 during Microsoft's press conference showed a character running away from several dragons and other beasts in a jungle. When surrounded, the creatures began to fight, and the player joined in using supernatural powers.
