"Harry Potter" star Rupert Grint admits issues of bullying in school, which made it harder for him to make friends, because of his fiery hair.

He said, "I went to an all-boys school and I was the only ginger. It was hard making friends!"

He added the bullies would call him various names pertaining to his being redhead.

"I don't have a regular [nickname] but I've had a few in the past," Rupert Grint told the Empire magazine in an interview.

"They're all variations on Ginge, M***e, Ginger Pubes. That's a popular one. Maybe that was bullying. I embraced it," he added on what his classmate would usually call him.

The Belfast Telegraph reported that "Harry Potter" star Rupert Grint recalled how he had a hard time taking public transportation because his hair could be identified easily and looks like a "beaco" and thus gathering public attention.

While Rupert Grint made name in the success of "Harry Potter" movies as Potter's best friend, Ron Weasley, the actor still rated himself average in the popularity meter. He ranked himself 6.5.

His "Harry Potter" co-stars Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson are also now making their own names after their stereotyped characters in the Potter films.

Radcliffe is currently doing a feature film called "Frankenstein" while Watson is shooting for American-thriller "Regression" after graduating from Brown University recently.

He told Empire that his earnings from his stint as the redhead Gryffindor were saved to buy an Ice Cream van that he drives.

The actor also revealed in the magazine that he could 'play the didgeridoo fairly well."

The "Harry Potter" star said: "The didgeridoo, I can make a pretty decent noise." He even added that though it is quite a tricky technique, "you have to do a circular breathing."

The 25-year-old's latest project is "Postman Pat," an animated film where he plays the voice of Josh, the lead character's rival, the Independent said. The movie hit UK theaters last May 8 and "Harry Potter" star Rupert Grint is still busy doing promotional tours for the said film.

Rupert Grint also has a single, "Lightning," which was first heard in an interview on BBC Radio 1 and is included in the film.

Last year, Rupert Grint also starred in punk-rock drama film "CBGB" and in the now-defunct TV show "Super Clyde."
