However, for a moment, Croatia looked like they had the potential to overpower Brazil in its hosting glory on their first match. Croatia seemed to have the game, as they scored a goal first, thanks to Marcelo's quick attack with just 11 minutes after the game started. But a scratchy penalty decision from the referee degraded all of Croatia's hopes and dreams of winning against a favourite in their first game. Eventually, the enthusiasm was replaced with disappointment as the game ended at 3-1.

Nevertheless, Croatia's loss does not mean they prove themselves to be a weak team in the World Cup. Their fierce players definitely carried an aura of budding triumph. Perhaps, if the referee would not jinx their play this time, they could win against Cameroon.

Cameroon, on the other hand, needs some serious improvement from their first match in the World Cup against Mexico. Though the final score is just 1-0, it is quite obvious that their performance is poor. The only thing that saved them from total domination by the El Tri is bad refereeing decisions. If they want to surpass Croatia, they have to start relying on strategy and less on luck.

Clearly, Croatia's got the upper hand in for this game. However, when Cameroon realizes their faults and decides to improve their performance, they might turn the tables of the match.
