Which is the better tablet for consumers and gadget enthusiast? We pit the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 against Apple's iPad Mini to see which of these is user friendly.

In terms of designand display, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S has two available shades: dazzling white and titanium bronze and weight's over 280 grams and it measures: 212.8×125.6×6.6mm, while the iPad Mini is available in silver and space gray shades, it weights 331grams and it measures 200×134.7×7.5mm.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S comes with an 8.4inch Super AMOLED screen that is able to support an amazing resolution of 2560x1600pixels, while the iPad Mini has a 7.9inch LED-backlit multitouch screen, with IPS technology, and it supports a lower resolution of 2048x1536pixels.

For the hardware and OS, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S is powered by 1.3GHz & 1.9GHz Exynos Octa-core processors, while the iPad Mini is equipped with dual-core 1 GHz Cortex-A9 processors and has a A7 chip with motion co-processor.The Samsung Galaxy Tab S has a variant of internal memory of 16GB, expandable up to 128GB, and also has 3GB of RAM as iPad Mini has a 16, 32 and 64GB of internal memory, but it’s unexpandable. Plus, it has only 512MB of RAM.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S has a superior primary camera tha has a resolution of 8MP, but its secondary camera is also better at 2.1MP. The iPad Mini on the other hand has a primary camera is of 5MP, while the secondary camera is of 1.2MP. But it has some “compensating” features such as five-element lens, face detection, backside illumination, autofocus, tap to focus video/images, tap to control exposure, hybrid IR filter, photo and video geotagging, HDR focus.

The Galaxy Tab 8.4-inch model cost $329 according to amazon.com while the iPad Mini costs $267.
