Will Linda Cardellini hot actress from hit TV series "ER" be part of yet another film adaptation of the hit TV cartoon series "Scooby Doo, Where are You?"
Deadline.com has just recently released a report that said Warner Bros. will be starting from scratch after they have released four films based on the cartoon franchise. The series started with "Scooby Doo" in 2002 and was followed up in 2004 with "Scooby Doo 2: Monster's Unleashed." Both of these film adaptations were directed by Raja Gosnell.
The cast in the previous films included Sarah Michelle Gellar as Daphne, Matthew Lillard as Shaggy, Freddie Prinze, Jr. as Fred, and the innocent-looking beautiful Linda Cardellini as Velma. Scooby Doo's voice was the voice of Neil Fanning.
A third film was discussed within the company, but it was cancelled after a lack of interest from the public, considering that the last sequel was a bit of a flop. In 2009 and 2010, Warner Bros. released two TV films of the cartoon series that showed the gang's endeavors before they were sucked into the lives they lived as portrayed in the two Gosnell films that were released earlier.
Scooby Doo, a Great Dane, is a famous Hanna-Barbera cartoon that knows how to talk in broken English. Together with his friends, they solve mysteries and find out who the real criminals are, uncovering them from their monster-like disguises. His name was the brainchild of the head of the children's programming department of CBS, Fred Silverman. Scooby Doo was based on the syllables and lyrics from "Strangers in the Night", a famous song by Frank Sinatra.
Ever since the cartoon was created and shown to the public, it has been globally recognized as an icon in pop culture history. Coincidentally, the hit cartoon series will be celebrating its 45th anniversary this year. Perhaps this is the reason why another Scooby Doo film will be made.
