How USA Learned Their Lesson The Hard Way From Germany

Geoff Cameron was pushed out of the USA team, which, in turn had favored Nani, the opening goalkeeper in a match against Portugal, Nani's concentration loss was partly the cause of a downside in the second round.

Omar Gonzalez attacked Matt Besler at the center-back side. Gonzalez and Belsler were often the speculated downers in a match against Brazil, having been players with no World Cup expertise.

Gonzalez's reputation downgraded as time progressed. Athleticism and speed had rewarded him, but poor concentration and positioning had always pushed his to a downside. He lost in a standout match against Rafa Marquez in favour of Mexico, which was a shining moment, in turn, for Gonzalez' part. His first time to play in the World Cup against Portugal was a disaster, though.

A usual moment for Gonzalez in a match against Germany was when he tried to cross the boxes, as Germany paved the way for a defense for USA in 10 minutes. Gonzalez threw the ball, however, unfortunately, missed. During the time that he was out of timing and his feet stood firmly at the goal line, he breezed past his goal keeper. This dragged into a long game in which the fans were left in a suspenseful mood as to which team would make it.

As the German backed off, USA started to have its edge, Gonzalez began to give it his best shot in playing. Gonzalez' game highlight was when he scooted past Mesut Özil, enabling Germany to take home an out swinger strike.
