Richard Marx New Album Titled Beautiful Goodbye Release Set For July 8; Marx And Seacreast Duet On American Idol Season 13; 'Right Here Waiting' Singer Fondly Recalls 'The Monkees' Concert On Yahoo

On Yahoo News, Richard Marx is about to release his new album (in 6 years) titled, Beautiful Goodbye.

The singer recently pulled off a fantastic publicity stunt to promote his album by making a hilarious surprise performance duet with Idol host Ryan Seacrest on the Season 13 American Idol finale.

Richard clarified to Yahoo Music that he's not a fan of singing competitions like Idol. Moreover, he also added that he had "no trepidation" accepting his friend Ryan's personal invite to perform on the show.

Marx is apparently giving all his focus on paying it (the duet) forward, since he fondly recalls being treated just as kindly by the artist that he first saw in concert: The Monkees, way back in 1969, and that time he was just 5 years old.

According to Yahoo, there is little doubt that Ryan Seacrest was excited to see Richard Marx in concert back in the day and duet with him this 2014. Richard may have Ryan beat in the excitement department with his own first-concert experience. He stated in Yahoo Interview: "I don't think I ever topped [the Monkees' concert], in terms of just mania. I've never been more excited to go to a concert than that,".
