A lot of people have been speculating on who would be the new face of UFC that will handle their promotion. As welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre has been away from the sport indefinitely, the name who always comes out when the issue of who would replace him is FC women's bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey.
Rousey has already been on the covers of numerous magazines as well as acting on major movies roles. She started her career at UFC in the year 2011 and has since defended her title for three times already while doing some coaching for one season of the Ultimate Fighter. Besides that Rousey has also appeared on a couple of talk shows, interviews as well as fan gatherings in behalf of the UFC.
The 27 year old California native is no stranger to hard work. Before she started making a career in UFC, she was working multiple jobs and at the same time, training for the Olympics. According to her ""I feel like I have the same amount of work, it's just different and more glamorous and more high profile work, Yeah, I'm working all the time now, but it's about the same as when I was working three jobs and training full time. In fact, I'm probably doing less and more time to sleep. I slept less then because I fell asleep in traffic and crashed my car and broke my nose at one point."
She continued "I think I was actually doing more work in the beginning than I am now, it's just people know more about the work that I'm doing and they don't know about every shift that I took at the graveyard at 24-Hour Fitness. It seems like I'm doing more, but I'm actually doing less."
Rousey is the first and current UFC Women's Bantamweight Champion,as well as the last Strikeforce Women's Bantamweight Champion. She is undefeated having eight of her nine fights won using Judo technique, juji gatame or armbar. She is also the first American woman to earn an Olympic medal in Judo at the Summer Olympics in Beijing in 2008. Definitely Rousey has what it takes to become the next face of the UFC. It's just a matter of time when UFC will announce her name officially.
