Showtime's "Masters Of Sex" season two trailer features heightened tension between the the human sexuality pioneers, Dr. William Masters and Virginia Johnson as they take their experiments from the lab to the bedroom.

The trailer opens with Johnson saying, "Sex: enjoy it if and when you can, but keep your heart out of it." However, the next scenes tease viewers of the co-worker's steamy affair in forging on in full force.

Dr. Masters' relationship with his wife gets strained with his growing deception, while meeting Johnson in hotels and spending nights wearing robes. The new trailer promises more focus on the colleagues' emotional (and physical) entanglement instead of the scientific aspect of human sexuality.

It seems Dr. Masters and Johnson will be mixing work and pleasure based on the "Master Of Sex" season 2 trailer.

"Masters Of Sex" premiered September of last year, running for 12 episodes before being renewed in October. The series was developed by Michelle Ashford from Thomas Maeir's biography "Masters of Sex: The Life and Times of William Masters and Virginia Johnson, the Couple Who Taught America How to Love."

Michael Sheen stars as Dr. Masters while Virgina Johnson is played by Lizzy Caplan. The two are colleagues at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri.

The show has received several critical praises in its first season. The American Film Institute listed "Masters Of Sex" as one of the top ten series in 2013. It also received a 90% critic approval rating from Rotten Tomatoes and Metacritic gave it 85 out of 100 from 32 reviewers.

"Masters Of Sex" also received recognition from various award-giving bodies, including a Best New Series and Best Episodic Drama (for "Pilot") nomination at the 71st Golden Globe Awards.

"Masters Of Sex" season two is set to premiere on Showtime at 10 pm, July 13.
