After Luis Suarez has been ordered by FIFA with a nine-match and four-month suspension in leiu of biting Girogio Chiellini of Italy, the Liverpool player says sorry to his victim.

The 27-year-old Uruguay forward admitted, "The truth is that my colleague Giorgio Chiellini suffered the physical result of a bite in the collision he suffered with me."

On a previous interview, the Liverpool striker denied that he bit Chiellini and said that he just lost his balance. In his written report to FIFA, he said, "I lost my balance, making my body unstable and falling on top of my opponent."

However, it is not the first time that Suarez will suffer a ban. In fact, this is his third ban for biting.

"I deeply regret what occurred," said Suarez. "I apologise to Giorgio Chiellini and the entire football family. I vow to the public that there will never again be another incident like this."

Nevertheless, the Italian victim said that the ban is too much for the Uruguayan player.

Being good collegues they were, Chiellini responded to Suarez publicly via Twitter, saying: "It's all forgotten. I hope Fifa will reduce your suspension."

Because of his suspension, Suarez is forced to leave the World Cup early, as he even left before their Round of 16 match against Colombia. The said match resulted in a 2-0 loss for Suarez's team. Most fans believe that it is due to the absence of the stellar Suarez.

Moreover, the Uruguayan player will miss out on the first nine games of the Premier League season. He will have to return on October 26 on the field.

Over-all, Suarez will have been absent for 39 matches because of his biting accidents, including this latest one because of Chiellini. In his last suspension because of Ivanovic, the player has been banned for 10 games.

His latest ban is the biggest and longest in World Cup history ever.
