Les Bleus is here to stay. The team won over Nigeria on a 2-0 finish in their game held at Estádio Nacional de Brasilia, Brasília. Match statistics showed that France ruled the game having more total shots released as well higher rate of shots on target. Both the team had almost a slight percentage difference when it came to ball possessions. Nigeria had 51% possession percentage while France had 49% which is 2% lower than the former. What Nigeria was good at was their defense. They were able to accumulate a total of 8 saves for their team.

The first half of the match started slow having no goals from both ends. When the second half started, everyone was rooting for their teams to generate a goal as each minute; the ball has just been tossed around with no specific direction. IT was not until the late 79th minute when the French midfielder Paul Pogba was able to hit the ball to the net.

The goal happened when an attempt from Benezema resulted with a save from the goal keeper Vincent Enyeama. But the 31 year old goalkeeper made a very crucial mistake as he flapped the ball which headed to Pogda who easily secured a goal.

Nigeria tried their best to even out the score, but another late goal courtesy of the Nigeria Defenders own goal, Joseph Yobo secured the lead for the team.

According to French coach Didier Deschamps "We have come very far. We wish we could seduce all the supporters." He added "But the World Cup is not in France this time, so we have to adapt to our surroundings."

The 45 year old French coach was satisfied with their performance in the match saying they finished the 90 minute game very well. He added "We had a very strong last half an hour with more dynamism and speed. When you look at the recent past of the French national team, I am very proud to be in the last eight of this World Cup. We came very far. Whatever happens now it's not failure."

With this, Les Bleus will be moving ahead to the quarterfinals of the world cup. France will be facing Germany to stand a chance in the semi-finals.
