News broke today that Jennifer Love Hewitt will part of the 10th season of the crime drama, Criminal Minds, as a series regular. She will first appear on the premiere of the latest season, which is slated for October 1, on CBS.

She will be playing a veteran undercover agent named Kate Callahan, whose outstanding record working for the FBI has had her promoted to a spot at the Behavioral Analysis Unit.

The Executive Producer of the show, Erica Messer has said that the entire cast and production team of the show are very much excited by this new development. "We're thrilled to introduce a new special agent by adding the very talented Jennifer Love Hewitt to our amazing cast," Messer said. "Many of us on the show have enjoyed working with her over the years and look forward to again. We have exciting storylines planned for her character and the entire BAU team as we head into our 10th season."

Jennifer Love Hewitt, a 90s movie icon with memorable roles in TV in Party of Five, and in movies such as the I Know What You Did Last Summer franchise, and the teen flick Can't Hardly Wait, has been concentrating on TV lately. Meanwhile, her role in the TV series "The Client List" earned her a Best Actress in a Miniseries made for Televsion nomination for the Golden Globe awards. She has also starred in "The Audrey Hepburn Story," and "The Lost Valentine."

Criminal Minds is a CBS show that revolves around the team at the FBI's Behavioral Analysis Unit, which focuses on the criminal's profile to solve the crime, rather than the crime itself.
