Miley Cyrus' new dog is all over her Instagram account, and it looks like the "Wrecking Ball" star is finally ready to move on from her loss.
Miley lost Floyd just this April, and the experience is a heartbreak only true dog lovers will understand. Miley is starting a clean slate at 21, and her new dog Emu plays a big part in her recovery.
One of her first photos with Emu was taken in bed, and Miley's post was cheerful, hopeful for a change. "Time to start making Emu accounts smilers. He's here and here to stay." The photos were taken and posted on Instagram Saturday.
Emu is new to the family, brought in a few days before the Instagram photos were posted. "I welcomed Emu Coyne Cyrus into the family a couple days ago. Been keepin him a secret cause sometimes I'm weird like that. It's taken some time to be ready for this next step and loving again."
Miley Cyrus' new dog is actually her second after Floyd died, though. Her mother Tish gave her Moonie to take care of, also to help her recover from the loss. The hurt was still very recent, and Miley ended up giving the puppy to a friend's mom.
She tweeted about her decision to give Moonie away: "Moonie, thank you for giving me so much love, comfort, & peace. It's just too soon for me right now."
Miley's attachment to Floyd was obvious, and the "Bangerz" star admits the bond she shared with Floyd was irreplaceable.
"Never will I replace Floyd and that's something I had to take time to understand. We had a very special memorial service for Floyd and I felt my angel Floyd give Emu his blessing. I prayed to Floyd to just give him a touch of his awesomeness and he has."
Miley Cyrus' new dog Emu offers new experiences for the singer, though, and she's now more than ready to move on. In several Instagram posts, Miley's photos with Emu are intimate, sharing a bathtub and an outdoor shower to boot (nydailynews.com).
