Maria Sharapova as Cheerleader? Boyfriend Grigor Dimitrov wants her to be

Andre Murray's toughest competition yet, Grigor Dimitrov, wants his No 1 fan, Maria Sharapova cheering for him during his match for the Wimbledon quarter-final.

The 23 year old Bulgarian has already won junior Wimbledon in 2008 - and the Aegon Championship last month. Besides that he was also the winner for the US Open last September 2008 against Devin Britton and was a runner-up during the US Open 2007.

Maria Sharapova won her first Wimbledon title against Serena Williams in 2004. This would have to mean that Dimitrov was only 13 years old when he watched the game.

Dimitrov has told reporters on previous interviews about the impact of Sharapova on his tennis matches saying "She's just been unbelievable, supporting me throughout the year. The feeling is pretty mutual. I hope that's not going to be the last tournament that she's at." He added "Having Maria on my side definitely adds up, and a tremendous champion like her, there is a lot to learn."

On the other hand, his girlfriend Sharapova also has sweet words for the 23 year old tennis player saying that Dimitrov is more gifted at tennis than she is.

This will be Dimitrov fifth meeting with Murray on the court. They will be fighting for the Wimbledon quarter-final on Wednesday. According to Murray "It's a step up because it's one round further. The guys that are in the quarter-finals are going to be playing top tennis."

When asked about Dimitrov, Murray answered "He won Queen's a couple weeks ago. He likes the grass courts. It's a big opportunity for him, as well, playing on the Centre Court at Wimbledon for the first time."

On the other hand, Dimitrov coach Patrick Mouratoglou is confident of his current performance and how he has improved through the years "He used to go for his shots much more when he was a junior. He wasn't building the points the way he does now. He likes to hit winners, to do brilliant things as you can see still, but his game is more solid now. He is working the point more. Everything is more tactically right than in the past."
