The most recent "Iron Man 4" rumors may worry the fans of the Marvel superhero because there may not be a sequel happening soon. This speculation started to come out when Robert Downey Jr. announced that he had finished filming "The Avengers: Age of Ultron", which got many people confused.
The actor announced it a few days after Joss Whedon tweeted that they are only halfway done. The "Avengers 2" director wrote on Twitter: "Halfway through shooting! Think I'm holding up better than usual. #yoga"
Fans have been yearning to see Robert Downey Jr. reprise his role in another "Iron Man" sequel, but it seems that we may not be seeing Tony Stark anymore. The 49-year old actor has just ended his contract with Marvel Studios and there's still no word if he will renew it or not.
It seems that there won't be any more "Iron Man 4" rumors coming out soon unless Robert announces that he will do more movies for Marvel. However, Kevin Feige kept the fans hoping for more "Iron Man" sequels in the future.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the Marvel Studios president said: "I believe there will be a fourth Iron Man film and a fifth and a sixth and a 10th and a 20th." Feige added, "I see no reason why Tony Stark can't be as evergreen as James Bond, or Batman for that matter, or Spider-Man. I think Iron Man is a character just like that."
Could this mean that a new actor will play Tony Stark in case they decide to do another "Iron Man" movie? Now let's try to figure out why Robert Downey Jr. finished his scenes so fast. It's either his role was cut short or his character died.
According to Movie Pilot, "With Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver now banging around, not to mention a bigger badder foe, perhaps the Iron Man role - compared to the first film at least - has been slimmed down. Tony Stark was arguably the focus of the first installment so Whedon could equally have just decided it was someone else's turn."
Regarding the death rumors, the website has this to say: "It's unbearable to think it but the unspeakable could still happen. Nothing has yet been confirmed for Iron Man 4 so could Whedon commit this cardinal sin and kill the most iconic MCU superhero off?"
I'm pretty sure many fans will get pissed once they see their most loved superhero killed in "The Avengers 2". Do you think the "Iron Man 4" rumors are true?
