A record-breaking performance from USA goal keeper Tim Howard is not enough to stop the Belgium team from fulfilling their seem- to- me destiny of reaching the World Cup 2014.
After full ninety minutes of action-packed youthful Belgian boys' golden generation versus the USA team's outstanding defense system, the game extended, and two of Belgium of the Belgium players, Kevin de Bruyne and Romelu Lukaku finally delivered goals in the 93rd and 105th minute of the match, respectively.
Despite all the doubt clouding Belgium's attacking force, they proved their spectators wrong. However, they only saw the fruits of their labor in the second half of the game as Lukaku teamed up with substitute Matt Besler, and De Bruyne. De Bruyne, then, gave back to Lukaku as he scored his own goal just minutes after.
On the other hand, Julian Green of USA also struggled two minutes later to score a goal for his team, and he succeeded.
However, it was really the USA goalkeeper who gave everyone a thriller for the match. With a total of eighteen saves solely from the match, Howard is quickly becoming a household name not only in Ericaca but all over the world.
"I have to say that what Tim Howard did tonight was phenomenal, outstanding and amazing. He kept us in the game. He had an absolutely amazing match and you have to give him all the plaudits," said USA coach Jurgen Klinsmann.
On the other hand, Belgium coach Marc Wilmots is delighted even after their win. He said, "We played football, we were brave and we pushed ourselves to the limits."
Also, he commented on their upcoming match against the legendary Lionel Messi and his Argentina team. He said, "Now we have four days to prepare for the Argentina game, which isn't long. We're not favourites but we want to win."
