Neymar has been reportedly severely hurt, according to Brazil Coach Luis Felipe Scolari, because of the rough treatment of the Chileans to the star player. However, their team doctor says that he is still in good shape to compete against James Rodriguez and the rest of the Colombia team, for a slot in the semi-finals.
Though the doctor said that he is still able to play, it will be completely up to Brazil on whether or not they want Neymar to join in the said match. He has never trained since his injury last Tuesday.
"We have four or five days to get Neymar in shape. It is a big problem. His thigh is swollen," Scolari told the media.
Indeed, it is. Neymar has goaled four goals in the tournament so far, with Lionel Messi competing for the highest record. His up to date record also includes his penalty in the team's second round victory against Chile.
The talisman has been injured in his thigh and ankle during the said game.
Nevertheless, Brazil spokesperson Rodrigo Paiva said that Neymar will be evaluated on Friday again. But he assured that fans should not worry about the player's health.
"The worst is the knee - it's what's hurting the most," said Paiva.
"He will be evaluated again, but team doctor Jose Luiz Runco saidfans don't have to worry because he's not a concern for the match."
However, the team coach Scolari has been furious over the injury and said that Neymar was treated poorly by the committee. "We couldn't understand how somebody hits with that strength and gets no card, " he said.
On the contrary, Neymar himself did not give details about his own injury, but he talked about his mental and physical health to suffice the match.
"We really suffered. But our desire to win was huge," he said.
