Ariana Grande's "Problem" featuring Aussie singer/rapper Iggy Azalea may have been hit, but wait until you hear its acoustic version.
Grande recently took the stage at the "Total Ariana Live" where she surprised fans with a more mellow version of the usually upbeat song.
In a brief review by MTV, the publication wrote, the 21-year-old "breathed new life into the song that's already been taking over the summer, turning the high energy sax-backed smash into an intimate, touching ballad."
The review continued, "While the original is a carefree kiss-off, this revamp tapped into the pain of a breakup, serving as a reminder that not only can she sing, but she can always surprise."
Prior to the event, she tweeted, "thrilled to announce I'll be bringing back TRL w @mtv on July 2 announcements will be made & fun will be had. See you then. #TotalArianaLive."
True enough, Ariana lived up to her promise when she announced that she will be performing with Zedd at the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards and will be performing her latest single "Break Free."
"I'm very, very excited, but I'm so nervous! I've never done anything like this. I brought TRL back!" she said.
Zedd meanwhile expressed his excitement over the collaboration and told the publication, "The song will be a really big song for the summer. It is a mix of her because she has a really special voice, and obviously you kinda clearly hear me in the song, so I think it's more unusual for her than it is for me 'cause I do this all the time."
The young singer's night ended with a "Break Free" dance party that definitely got everyone talking - and dancing for sure.
Meanwhile, Ariana is also in the midst of releasing a "triple threat" single with Jessie J and Nicki Minaj, according to the Daily Mail.
