Members of Japanese boy group Arashi announced their plan to release a new album during their fourth "Arashi's Waku Waku School 2014" event last June 29. The decade-long group, which is made up of Sho Sakurai, Masaki Aiba, Jun Matsumoto, Kazunari Ninomiya, and Satoshi Ohno, also disclosed other plans for the rest of the year.
"In Fall, we will be releasing our 13th original album," Aiba told the fans who went to the event.
Jun Matsumoto also announced the group's impending tour to an overjoyed audience, "This year it's also going to be a five-dome tour."
Arashi's tour will begin at the Fukuoka Dome on November 14 and will end in Tokyo Dome on December 23. The planned 18 concerts are expected to bring in over 800,000 fans, making this the group's largest dome tour.
"On the whole we have more performances," Ninomiya appealed to the group's avid followers.
"We will be running at full speed till the end of the year, so please keep up with us!" Ohno added.
Previous concerts held by the male idol unit usually brings in high demands in ticket sales, resulting in some tickets being sold on the black market, an occurrence that the decade-long boyband has been dealing with. In an attempt to avoid this problem in the upcoming tour, the group will be holding more shows to accommodate more fans.
This "Waku Waku School" event was attended by fans of different ages, both male and female. Arashi also had sessions in Kyocera Dome in Osaka and in Tokyo Dome. The event gathered a quarter of a million fans.
Arashi's dome tour schedule include:
Fukuoka Yahoo! Dome: November 14, 15, and 16
Kyocera Dome Osaka: November 27, 28, 29, and 30
Nagoya Dome: December 5, 6, and 7
Sapporo Dome: December 12, 13, 14
Tokyo Dome: December 19, 20, 21, 22, and 23
All the shows in each dome will start at 6pm, except for the last shows which will be at 4pm.
