Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard wedding took place last June 21 and afterwards celebrated the bliss of being married for a week. According to People, Jill exclusively revealed that they spent their honeymoon at Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina, and rented a house on the beach. Hollywood life reported that this trip was the first time the couple was allowed to be alone together.

"Every morning, we would wake up and go out and sit on the deck and listen to the waves," she says. "It was beautiful. It was very private without a lot of people there yet for the season. It was so relaxing."

Reportedly the newlyweds toured the Wright Brothers National Memorial and packed a picnic lunch and spent an afternoon at Cape Hatteras Island, touring the lighthouse there.

"It was really pretty there," she says. "It was wonderful. We were able to be away for almost a full week."

Now that the couple is back, they're settling in to married life. Jill told Peple that she's learning the art of cooking for only two.

"I love to cook and have been able to do a lot of cooking," she says. "Cooking for two people is a learning experience in and of itself."

According to People, the couple decided to spend most of the time together.

"Our house is really close to Derick's work," she says. "I have been able to drop him off in the morning and meet him for lunch so we can spend more time together. It has really been a lot of fun."

Jill shares how she appreciates her husband and married life to People.

"I have the most amazing guy," Jill tells PEOPLE. "Everything about being married is awesome."

E! News reported that because of their shared Christian faith, the couple didn't hold hands until they got engaged, and Jill and Derick saved their first kiss for after their wedding vows.

"I think it is safer and makes it more special to wait to kiss until your wedding day. To save the physical side of your marriage for your wedding day and not going further than you should - we want to have no regrets," Duggar said.

The couple both think that their first kiss was totally worth the wait.
