32 year old center, Chris Kaman has officially signed a 2 year contract worth 9.8 million dollars under the Portland Trail Blazers.

Kaman was drafted into the NBA in 2003 by the Los Angeles Clippers, after a college basketball career at Central Michigan University. During his rookie year, Kaman averaged 6.1 points, 5.6 rebounds, 0.89 blocks and 22.5 minutes in 82 games played (61 starts). On the record, he is the only player from Clipper who was able to play all 82 games. He also became the second rookie who was able to play all 82 games in his rookie season.

After a year of playing as a rookie, he had his statistics improved averaging 9.1 points, 6.7 rebounds and 25.9 minutes in 63 games (50 starts). But he missed 12 games for that season due to injury. As years progressed, he was selected to his first ever All-Star Game as a reserve.

After a one year stint with the LA Lakers during the 2013-2014 Season, he decided to move forward. The 11 year veteran had to deal with injuries and inconsistency but still able to manage an average of 10.4 points, 5.9 rebound and 18.9 minutes in 39 games.

Kaman has reached to an agreement with the Portland Trail Blazers where he is to stay for 2 years.

When Chris Kaman was asked about his deal with the Trail Blazers he said "This was about fit. I know I have 3 or 4 good years of basketball left. Really good years. I wanted to find the right fit for myself and the team. Portland was that fit." He added "I want to be back in playoffs and help the team get back to winning the title. I think the Trail #Blazers are right at that level."

Kaman will be giving the Trail Blazers a 7-foot presence to support starting center Robin Lopez. As long as Kaman stays healthy and focused, he will surely be a great catch for the incoming season of the NBA. His performance with his new team will be tested once the season starts and a lot of people sill be looking forward to it.
