A police report today from the country's capital, Rio de Janeiro, stated that one FIFA official could have been linked in a $100 million ticket scandal.

According to the police, they managed to arrest 11 (eleven) suspended ticket sellers. It was through a special investigation named Operation Jules Rimet, which used wiretapping on the phones of the accused.

The head of the investigation, Fario Barucke, said that the source of the tickets is none other than a Fifa official. Of course, that official had access to the offices, stadiums, and most definitely, the match tickets.

Some of the sold tickets were reportedly priced eight times more than its original price.

The police are planning to meet Fifa officials in person, especially the department of the official ticket agency match. The said organization is responsible for selling World Cup hospitability packages, or those for the tourists.

Delia Fischer, head of Fifa media deprtment, said that she was not aware of the information on identifying the said official.

Moreover, she said, "Maybe it's not from Fifa - it's often easy to come to a conclusion about who is Fifa."

Nevertheless, Barucke said that the aim profit of the said scandal was around $100m, or £60m. It was though the illegal selling of the tickets. He also said that the group may have done this too before in the previous World Cups.

The name of the ticket stirrer is Mohamadou Lamine Fofana. He is an Algerian man who was recorded to have been staying in the Copacabana Palace Hotel prior to the arrest. The said hotel is where the top Fifa administrators are staying.

The policeman also said that he believes that Fofana is just a middleman, and the ticket supplier is a person in the higher ranks.

"He [Fofana] has tickets from hospitality, from Match, and he was close friends with someone from Fifa who was in the middle of that negotiation - who was helping out with that negotiation.

"We were able to identify there is the participation of someone from Fifa."
