While Colombia has been turning heads throughout the tournament especially for World Cup record holder for most goals, James Rodriguez, the Brazil team has been relying on their luck as hosts more than their prowess.
"It's normal to have people demanding that we play better," Brazil coach Luiz Felipe Scolari said.
"But it's also normal what we have been seeing in this World Cup so far. There were a lot of even matches. There is no difference between teams that have tradition and world titles and the rest of the teams. Matches are being decided on penalties, in the final minutes, on mistakes."
First off, Brazil is still in doubt on whether or not they could live up to the expectations of their homeland. Neymar, their star player, was also reportedly injured 'very much' prior to their game against Chile.
On the other hand, Colombia had very convincing wins throughout the tournament. Their latest win against Uruguay at 2-0 could be of proof to that. Although, some may say that it is due to Luis Suarez's absence.
Nevertheless, Rodriguez is still holding the record for most goals so far in this World Cup, with a total of five successes.
"We're very happy because we are making history," said Colombia midfielder James Rodriguez.
"We want to do even more because this is a team that really wants to win."
"He has a lot of quality with his left foot, he's showing why Monaco paid a lot of money to sign him," Brazil defensive midfielder Fernandinho said.
"We can't give him any space, we are going to have to be very careful with him."
However, Brazil is still determined to make it into the finals.
"What happened against Chile will serve to motivate us in the next matches," Brazil midfielder Ramires said.
"We will be better prepared."
Prediction: Brazil has run out of luck this time, and that Neymar injury is just Scolari's excuse for a mediocre fight against Colombia. Through Rodriguez, the match will end in a 2-1 win in favour of Colombia.
