It seems like Eugenie Bouchard is on her way to her first Wimbledon Championship. The 20 year old Canadian just won her match against Romanian Simona Halep on a submission 7-6(5) 6-2 during the semi's of the Wimbledon.

Halep is a third seed in the Wimbledon while Bouchard ranked 10 places behind her at 13th place. But the latter was not worried and neither was she surprised with her win "I expect good results like this ... It's a step in the right direction. I get to play in the final." She continued "You know, I still have another match, so it's not a full celebration yet."

When asked by reporters on what she would do if she wins the Wimbledon, she answered "I'm waiting for a big moment to go nuts. Of course, achieving a lifelong dream like winning a slam is very exciting to me. But you know I feel like my job is not done here, I'm still working. Today, I just felt very calm in general. I was proud of myself but I know I have another step."

But both Bouchard and Halep had some minor interruptions in their game. Halep had to have her sore foot treated during the first two sets. On the other hand, Bouchard seemed calm and collected during the whole match. She only showed stress and distraction during the time when one spectator had squealed.

Halep had a tough Wimbledon match. She said "After losing a set, it's really tough to say, 'Let's play two more to win with two injuries. I lost my energy because I played many matches and after the French Open there was a really short time to recover. But it's my best result at Wimbledon, so I cannot be sad now."

Bouchard was 10 years old when she realized her dream of being a tennis champion. She saw a Wimbledon match with a tall Russian woman lifting a trophy and said "I thought: 'Wow, what she's doing is cool. I want to do the same."

Her family had to move to Florida in order to fulfill her dream. She was 12 then. "We've had to make a lot of sacrifices as a family - financially, family time - but it is worth it."

It definitely is as right now, she is at the finals of the Wimbledon and is one step away from her coveted trophy.
