Comedian Joan Rivers is known to be very open with her thoughts and feelings.

She proved this once again on Saturday when the 81-year-old walked out in the middle of her interview on CNN.

Rivers made an appearance to promote her new book, titled "Diary of A Mad Diva," according to NY Daily News.

The interview started to get heated when the anchor, Fredricka Whitfield, reportedly described Rivers' fashion critiques on E!'s "Fashion Police" as "very mean in some ways."

Joan Rivers shut down the anchor, saying, "It's not mean, it's not mean, it's not mean. I tell the truth."

She added, "I'm sure I say the same things that all your viewers say to their friends sitting next to them on the couch. We're one of the few shows that says 'that's an ugly dress.' These ladies make $28 million a picture. You really think that Nicki Minaj cares I didn't like her dress?"

Rivers clarified, "It's not about them, it's the clothing."

When Whitfield asked if Rivers was ever worried about offending people with her specific brand of humor, the female comic simply responded, "Life is very tough. If you can make a joke to make something easier and funny, do it."

The interview reached its climax when the CNN anchor brought up the fur coat that Rivers is wearing on the cover of "Diary of a Mad Diva," reportedly stating that it could draw the negative attention of animal rights activists.

"This whole interview is becoming a defensive interview," responded Rivers.

Then she asked, "Are you wearing leather shoes?"

When Whitfield answered "Yes," River went on to say, "then shut up."

Rivers added, "I don't want to hear this nonsense. Come to me with a paper belt, and I'll talk to you."

When Whitifield tried to get the interview back on track, Rivers made the decision to leave, according to mediaite.com.

"All you've done is negative. I've made people laugh for fifty years, I am put on earth to make people laugh! My book is funny! I wear fur that was killed 15 years ago! I work for animal rights! Stop it with this 'And you do this, and you're mean, and you do that.' You are not the person to interview a person who does humor!" concluded Rivers.
