Paul McCartney recently went back to performing after getting rid of a virus that forced him to cancel concert dates last May. Several of the shows on his current tour had to be canceled for him to rest on doctor's orders.

The 72-year-old former Beatles frontman returned to the stage on July 7 and even helped his 64-year-old fan, John Dann, porpose to his girlfriend, Claudia Rodgers.

According to The Democrat and Chronicle, the couple stood close to the stage at the start of the concert at the Times Union Center in Albany, New York holding up eye-catching neon green signs. Rodgers' placard read, "He won't marry me 'til he meets you" while Dann held up "I have the ring and I'm 64."

The couple, who are from Wayne County, had noticed Paul McCartney calling up people with witty signs when they watched a concert of his in 2011. This time, they wanted to be the ones called up on stage.

The music icon reportedly gave up the spotlight to Dann during the final encore and let him sing "When I'm 64" in front of 13,000 fans. The band eventually picked up the tune and played for him. The crowd also clapped and cheered for him as he sang.

"Will you still need me? Will you still feed me when I'm 64?" Dann sang.

"Sweetheart, will you marry me?" He finally said after the first verse.

The Democrat and Chronicle reports that Rodgers didn't hesitate to say "Yes!"

"Here I am-a nobody-and a musical legend was accompanying me," the life-long Beatles fan told the publication. "It was a moment I'll never forget."

"And they booked us for the wedding," the celebrated musician even joked to The Poukeepskie Journal.

Even after the Paul McCartney concert ended, the Wayne County couple had to stay in their seats as audience members offered their congratulations to the happy couple, reports the The Poukeepskie Journal.
