Last night's episode of "True Blood" was simply heartbreaking. Warning, spoilers on season 7 are about to happen.

Fan favorite, Joe Manganiello, who plays werewolf Alcide, was shot and killed, according to ABC News. Yes, we know, the most shocking spoiler in season 7 of all.

Apparently, the death of Alcide wasn't a surprise at all to Manganiello.

"I had dinner with Bucky [showrunner Brian Buckner], and he brought the first three scripts and said, 'We're killing you.' I said, 'I know.' He said, 'You do?' I said, 'Yeah. What are you gonna do with Alcide if he's with Sookie? We're gonna have a nice wedding and take off for Bermuda, then move away from town and stay there and have babies? That's not the show," stated the 37-year-old actor.

He added, "The fairy has to be with the vampire, so you gotta get the werewolf outta the way. You can't get mad at her for breaking the good guy's heart. So it's the only choice you have, really - you gotta kill him."

The actor opened up about what it was like shooting his death scene for "True Blood" during an interview with Vulture.

"It was freezing. It was in the 30s, and I had to lie on the ground for long periods of time, and try not to shake or rattle, while I was freezing, because I'm supposed to be dead. The director was like, 'Please stop shaking!' And I was like 'I'm trying my hardest right now!' So that was really, really tough to do," stated Manganiello.

The actor continued, "I've died on other projects before, so that wasn't a big deal. But I was like, 'This is the last time I'm going to have to lie down on the ground naked in Malibu in the woods.' So that made me happy. I thought, 'If I get through this, I'll probably, hopefully, never have to do this again.'"

Manganiello did take a souvenir when leaving the set of "True Blood."

"I took my sock [prop used when he was naked]. I'm gonna frame it and put it up in the my guest bathroom. That's a fun piece of memorabilia. Maybe I'll donate it someday to the Academy museum," the actor stated.
