Pink Floyd will be making a highly anticipated comeback.

According to HitFix, guitarist/vocalist David Gilmour's wife, Polly Samson, spilled the news over the weekend, tweeting, "Btw Pink Floyd album out in October is called 'The Endless River.' Based on 1994 sessions is Rick Wright's swan song and very beautiful."

Pink Floyd will be releasing its first album in two decades, according to E! News.

Singer Durga McBroom-Hudson revealed more details regarding the album via Facebook as well.

"The recording did start during the 'Division Bell' sessions (and yes, it was the side project originally titled 'The Big Spliff' that [Pink Floyd drummer] Nick Mason spoke about). Which is why there are Richard Wright tracks on it. But David and Nick have gone in and done a lot more since then," McBroom-Hudson wrote on Sunday.

She added, "It was originally to be a completely instrumental recording, but I came in last December and sang on a few tracks. David then expanded on my backing vocals and has done a lead on at least one of them."

Fans have reportedly asked McBroom-Hudson to coordinate a reconciliation between Gilmour and Pink Floyd founder, Roger Waters. Waters left the band in 1985 after reportedly having conflicts with the band mates.

Although Gilmour and Waters have reunited occasionally for one-off performances, it is reportedly unlikely that Gilmour will invite Waters to appear on the band's new album.
