Utah car crash 2014 left five people dead and two others critically wounded. The crash occurred in Southern Utah on Sunday afternoon.
Five people were riding a van, which was trying to pass a vehicle on US Route 191. However, it had a head-on collision near Monticello with an oncoming sports car that had two passengers. According to the Utah Highway Patrol, this collision happened approximately 285 miles southeast of Salt Lake City.
Trooper Evan Kirby informed KSL-TV that both of the people riding the sports car died instantly as the car burst into flames. Three of the passengers who were on the van were also killed on the spot. The other two passengers of the van were immediately brought to the nearest hospital and are presently in critical condition. To date, no identifying information has been provided regarding the victims of Utah car crash 2014.
This Utah car crash 2014 happened only two days after another head-on collision killed three people. The prior collision involved a driver who was driving on the wrong way right on the Interstate 80 in the northern part of Utah. According to the reports filed by the troopers, the driver, 36-year-old Paul Mumford, turned around and was driving the wrong way before it collided with an SUV, which was driven by 36-year-old Jose Adame-Orozco.
Three of the passengers of the SUV were pronounced dead on the spot, namely, Delphine John, Adame-Orozco's girlfriend, and their daughters, 18-year-old Deliah Ramirez and 3-year-old Anaya Orozco. Adame-Orozco was in critical condition at the time. Mumford, meanwhile, remained stable. Investigators of this particular Utah car crash 2014 believe that Mumford was actually under the influence when the accident took place.
Troopers have found out that both of the vehicles involved in the earlier Utah car crash 2014 were traveling at least 80 miles per hour, and that both of them were not able to hit their brakes on time. They got this information since they did not observe any skid marks on the road.
