J.K. Rowling has come up with yet another book about Harry Potter, but, this time, it is about adult life of "the boy who lived." It is written in the form of a gossip column that is written by Rita Skeeter. For those who are not avid fans of the huge Harry Potter franchise, Rita Skeeter is a much-hated journalist who has a tendency to bend facts and twists them to turn them into something scandalous.
In this new book, Harry Potter will be attending the Quidditch World Cup with his own family, and they were accompanied by their best friends, Ronald Weasley and Hermione Granger-Weasley who also brought their children with them. Harry is now in his 30s with hair that is starting to turn gray, or, as J.K. Rowling has put it, "a couple of threads of silver." Plus, there is also strange cut on his cheek; something that Rita Skeeter implies was caused by his wife, Ginny Weasley-Potter.
Rita Skeeter then reports in her column, "Are cracks beginning to show in a union the Potters are determined to promote as happy?" Her entire report seemed to be dedicated to lambasting Harry Potter once again, as it had verbal attacks on his glasses, his best friends, and his godson.
J.K. Rowling has never been shy in satirizing tabloid papers. In fact, there was once a time when she was one of those who were asked to testify at an inquiry with regards to the practice of the British press. She said that the unwanted attention that she got made her feel like she was "under siege or like a hostage."
The new Harry Potter addition by J.K. Rowling can be read on her official website, Pottermore. However, readers who are interested to take a peek into this new book must first register.
