Boris Diaw is staying with the San Antonio Spurs

Boris Diaw has agreed to the terms of his new contract with San Antonio Spurs. The contract will put the 32 year old power forward to a 3 year contract worth 22 million dollars. Diaw has made himself an important part of the team making him a more valuable player to look out for.

The French player took to tweeter to announce the news saying "Hey spurs fans, Good news, i stay in san antonio for a few more years. Lets win it again."

Diaw was on his way out of the NBA when he chanced upon the San Antonio Spurs. It seemed like that Diaw was a perfect match for the Spurs as he was one of the key person who made the championship win happen. It was because of this that Diaw has come to realize that he is meant to continue his career with the team. Diaw averaged 9.1 points, 4.1 rebounds and 2.8 assists last season. He was also named the NBA's Most Improved Player in 2005-2006.

According to former Timberwolves head coach Rick Adelman with regards to Diaw "He's perfect for them."

On the other hand, LeBron James has seen how Diaw helped the team during the series saying ""Implementing Diaw into the lineup has given them another point guard on the floor," he added "So Manu (Ginobili), Tony (Parker) and Diaw and Patty Mills on the floor at once, they've got four point guards basically on the floor at once. So all of them are live and they all can make plays. So it's a challenge for us all."

The Spurs has chosen to increase the contract value of Diaw after he showed an exemplary performance during NBA's last season.

A lot has been going on in the free agent circle and much speculation are flying due to most of the free agents coming out are of high caliber. One by one, free agents are starting to settle down to their chosen team and Diaw choice to stay with the Spurs is a win-win situation for them both. Diaw has been improving greatly on his technique and performance while the Spurs will be benefitting with these improvements.
