Mike Tyson news features the former world heavyweight champion's statements regarding the state of today's heavyweight boxing, stating that it is "not as good" as it was during his time.

"Iron Mike" made a rare appearance in social media through Reddit's Ask-Me-Anything (AMA) session on Tuesday, where he answered questions from fans.

"It is not as good as it could be," Tyson said about the current state of boxing heavyweights. "I think once promoters start putting their fighters in fights they might lose, it will bring out the best in boxing. The sport has to improve at giving the fans what they want."

Mike Tyson news also reveals "Iron Mike's" venture into boxing promotion. Having retired in 2005, after a disappointing loss to journeyman boxer Kevin McBride, the 48-year old native of Catskill, New York has entered into the business of boxing promotion. "Iron Mike Productions" was then established in August 2013.

Among his list of fighters is IBF Super-Featherweight champion Argenis Mendez, who will be defending his title on July 10th, against Cuban Rances Barthelemy. And for the former world heavyweight champion, giving the fans a memorable fight is the utmost priority.

"Too many promoters promote fighters, but I want to promote boxing," he said about the Mike Tyson news. "My fighter (Argenis) Mendez might lose on Thursday night, but I want to give boxing fans good entertaining boxing. As long as the fans are entertained I am happy."

As for the current boxing scene, Mike Tyson agrees that the fight that fans want to see is the supposed mega bout between eight-division champion Manny Pacquiao and current pound-for-pound boxing king and Forbes' highest paid athlete of 2014, Floyd Mayweather.

For the heavyweight legend, Floyd Mayweather should step in and take the fight.

"He has beaten everyone he has fought," Tyson said about Mayweather. "He is the cream of the crop. I would love to see him fight Pacquiao though."
