Team Argentina watched the game between Brazil and Germany on their television sets at Itaquerao Stadium in Sao Paulo. Due to this, they had delayed their training session for about 20 minutes and appeared on the field after the games ended.
Like how everyone reacted to the game between two great teams, Argentina coach Alejandro Sabella only had three words to describe what transpired in the field and that is "Football is Illogical."
Sabella said with regards to the result of the match as "not normal ... but in football you have to expect these things. It's football. It's the most illogical of sports."
Brazil had a hard time fighting the now much stronger team in Germany. Germany made a back to back goal during the first half of the tournament which was hard for Brazil to overcome. Brazil struggled during their semi finals match against Germany which ended in a 7-1 finals core.
It has been reported that team captain Thiago Silva was not able to play the semis game because he received his second yellow card during the game against Colombia. At the same time, their main scorer, received an injury and cracked his vertebrae during the same against Colombia.
Sabella also described that this is the reason why football is beautiful because breaking away from the norm. He said "Seven-one is not a normal result between two world footballing powers."
He continued "Undoubtedly, it is not a normal result. Germany is a potent force. They are always in finals, semi-finals. They were superior and they won. Football can be like that. Sometimes things happen that you don't expect, and that is why it is beautiful."
Argentina is off to face Netherlands in the semi final rounds of the FIFA World Cup. Whoever wins this match will face Germany in the Finale games. But even now, Argentina coach is already proud of his team's achievement saying "Our intention was to go as far as possible, and to try to get in among the best four teams. Having reached this stage, we will never settle for losing now, but for me this group of players have already won."
