NBC is currently prepping its 2006 hit superhero series, "Heroes," for a reboot. Creator Tim Kring and NBC Entertainment president Jennifer Salke has hinted of possible appearance from originals characters for the new mini-series "Heroes Reborn" in the past few months.

Milo Ventimiglia-who plays fan favorite and main character Peter Petrelli-has confirmed that he will not be rejoining the crew for unknown reasons. He announced his decision through a conversation with a fan on Twitter.

Peter's mentor in the original series however, has expressed his interest to reprise his role in the spinoff.

In the red carpet premiere of his new HBO show, "The Leftovers," Chris Eccleston told MTV that he would be willing to play invisible man and thief Claude Rains again should he receive the offer for "Heroes Reborn." Claude crosses paths with Peter and eventually becomes the Empath's Yoda.

"Of course, yeah, I had a great time on the show!" Eccleston answered regarding the casting possibility. "Yeah. I'd always be interested. That was a great character. I love that guy."

Claude's character in "Heroes" was a former agent of the mysterious Company (they were recruiting and rounding up people with powers). He was left for dead after being shot but eventually reappears to teach Peter how to control his powers.

MTV reports that even though Claude's story was left hanging in the original series, his character was mentioned in several graphic novels. If NBC were to use those as reference, his character's return would be very plausible for the 13-episode mini-series planned for 2015.

Eccleston was last seen on the big screen as the Dark Elf Malekith in "Thor: The Dark World." He is currently appearing in the new HBO rapture series, "The Leftovers" every Sunday, 10 pm ET.

Jack Coleman, who plays Noah Bennet also known as HRG (Horn-Rimmed Glasses), has been confirmed to reprise his role via the "Heroes Reborn" official Twitter page.

"Heroes Reborn" is projected to air summer of 2015.
