Daniel Radcliffe Says No To Older ‘Harry Potter’ Role

"Harry Potter" fans will be disappointed to know that Daniel Radcliffe will most likely not be playing the role of the graying Harry Potter if the role were to be offered to him.

"My inclination is to say no," Radcliffe told TV critics yesterday when asked if he'd be interested in playing a Potter in his mid-30s.

The question came after author J.K. Rowling published a 1,500 word story about a now married Potter on her website.

"I don't think it's a question that's even - not even hypothetical. As I understand, it's a very short piece, not of itself worthy of adaption to film. And he's at least 12 years older than I am now. I don't think I'll have to worry about that for a long time," stated Radcliffe, according to Deadline.com.

Daniel Radcliffe can be seen playing a younger, morphine-addicted version of a doctor played by Jon Hamm on Ovation's black comedy, titled "A Young Doctor's Notebook & Other Stories."

Hamm and Radcliffe signed on for the second season of "A Young Doctor's Notebook & Other Stories" a year ago, according to the website. The first, four-part season of the series aired in December 2012 on Sky Arts in the UK and reportedly became the most successful program in the channel's history.

The actor was at the TCA's Summer Press Your at the Beverly Hilton to discuss the upcoming four episodes of the series as well as the logistics of the show.

When asked how his character gets about six inches taller by the time he reaches Jon Hamm's age, Radcliffe responded, "This show is so crazy anyway. People are either going to go with it and enjoy it so much they don't care about it - if they get hung up on that, there's plenty of other logical problems they're going to find. That definitely wasn't something we lingered on too much."
