Three actors who enjoyed k-drama success this year are considering roles in an upcoming tvN drama, "My Secret Hotel." Yoo In Na, Nam Goong Min and Jin Yi Han will form a love triangle in the drama that has been described as a romantic mystery story.
None of the stars have yet signed contracts but they are in the final stages of negotiation.
In "My Secret Hotel" Yoo In Na plays a wedding planner who works at a luxury hotel. It's a wedding destination favored by the affluent. Her day job may require her to be optimistic about the odds of a marriage succeeding but in real life she already experienced a divorce. She is cynical about love and yet somehow she finds herself in the middle of a love triangle.
Yoo In Na enjoyed k-drama success earlier this year when she played Jun Ji Hyun's fellow actress and frenemy in "You Who Came From The Stars." She followed that role with a job hosting "Get It Beauty," a celebrity beauty program.
The love triangle that Yoo In Na's character gets involved in will feature her character's ex-husband and a new boyfriend. Namgoong Min will play one of the characters and Jin Yi Han will play the other.
Both actors have also been busy this year.
Namgoong Min appeared as a home shopping channel executive in the romantic comedy "I Need Romance 3," as well as the less successful "Wild Chives and Soybean Soup." He also played virtual husband to singer Hong Jin Young on the reality show "We Got Married."
Jin Yi Han had an important role as Tal Tal in the very successful 51-episode historical drama "Empress Ki." He followed that with a role in the less successful legal drama "A New Leaf.
But whatever part of the love triangle these two actors play, "My Secret Hotel" will focus on more than love. A murder happens at the hotel and the mystery of who did it needs to be solved. Everyone will get involved in trying to find the identity of the killer.
Hong Jong Chan, who worked on "Doctor Stranger," will direct. Kim Do Hyun, who wrote "Goodbye Wife," has written the screenplay.
"My Secret Hotel" will follow "High School King" either in late August or early September. The date is uncertain because the "High School King" producers are currently trying to coordinate actors' schedules so the drama can be extended for an additional two episodes.
