Robbie Ammel, star of CW's The Tomorrow People will once again work with his executive producer George Berlanti. This time it will be on The Flash TV series which airs on the CW channel.
The Flash TV series is a spinoff of the Arrow series, and it focuses on the DC Comics superhero The Flash. Ammel will be playing Ronnie Raymond, also known as one-half of the character Firestorm.
The 26-year-old will debut in the show on its third episode as the fiance Caitlin Snow (played by Danielle Panabaker). In the comic book, Ronnie and physicist Martin Stein were involved in a nuclear accident that gave them powers to fuse together to form a hero named Firestorrn.
According to Greg Berlanti, The Flash TV series was really intended to included the character of Firestorm. This character has been seen in major comic book stories, sich as Super Friends: The Legendary Superpowers Show, Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths, and The Super Powers Team.
"Geoff Johns, Andrew Kreisberg, and I designed the pilot and series to include Ronnie -- and to actually have someone with Robbie's talent playing the role is beyond exciting. We can't wait for viewers and fans of the character to check it out,"
As for Ammel, he is thrilled to be part of the cast. "I'm so excited to join forces with Greg Berlanti and The CW again on The Flash. Being bought into the DC Universe is a dream, I can't wait to get started."
This casting of Ammel will also be a reunion for the actor, another Ammel -- his cousin Stephen is the lead character in Arrow, who appears in the pilot episode for The Flash.
Ammel will join other cast members Grant Gustin, Danielle Panabaker, Carlos Valdes, Jesse L. Martin and Candice Patton on the series.
The Flash TV series will premiere on October 7. It will air on The CW.
